Thank you,
Based on what you have provided, the approach, enclosure dimensions and site meet the requirements detailed in
our commercial enclosure requirements.
Per Republic Services all enclosure dimensions and approaches have been met per plans attached. We do not stamp
plans per say but rather give approval through e-mail and Republic Services approves of the plans attached.

Hi Lee,
Correct, the trash enclosure will still allow for adequate approach, will have 12’x12’ internal measurements and will
allow the doors to open at least 120 degrees. We’re just relocating since we will have some outdoor gathering
spaces around the clubhouse and would prefer the trash enclosure a little bit of a distance from that.
Thank you!

Hello Stephanie,
Would the relocation of the enclosure allow for the adequate approach, have the 12’x12’ internal measurements,
and allow the doors to open a minimum of 120-degrees?

Hi Lee,
Hope you’re doing well!
A few months back you reviewed/approved plans for trash enclosures at the Lost Rapid Apartments and Townhomes
project in Meridian. The project site is located at the SW corner of Ten Mile and Chinden, just north of Lost Rapids.
Our client would like to move one of the trash enclosures slightly, so I wanted to run their idea past you to see if this
would work for Republic Services. They’d like to move the trash enclosure that was originally proposed to the north
of the clubhouse/common lot in the center of the site to the east adjacent to Building I and parking. A detail of that
move is shown below, I’ve also attached a site plan here so you can get an idea of the larger context.

Will this work okay for Republic Services? Please let me know what your thoughts are and whether you have any
questions/comments.
Thank you,

Thank you for the enclosure plans. I do have some concerns with them, but if your contractor will be reaching out
about those, I can approve your site lay-out until then. I will need to discuss several items with them about the
enclosures before they would get signed off, but you may consider this email an approval for your site plan.
Per Republic Services, the requirements for all approaches and servicing paths have been met per plans attached.
We do not stamp plans per say but rather give approval through e-mail and Republic Services approves of the plans
attached. Any questions please reach out.
Again, please have your contractor reach out to discuss the enclosure requirements.
Thanks

Good morning Lee,
That’s great news, thanks for the quick review and response.
We do have trash enclosure details that were submitted with the CUP and CZC applications, please see attached
here. Our architect has noted that the contractor will verify dumpster requirements with you as well.
Thanks for your help with all of this. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hello,
Thank you for sending the site layout back. Everything there looks great and my driver will be able to service it as it is
laid out.
One thing I didn’t see was the enclosure dimensions. I have attached our enclosure requirements. I am happy to look
them over once you get back to me with them.

Good morning Lee and Jay –
Per our conversation a couple of weeks ago, we have made changes to the Lost Rapids Townhomes and Apartments
site plan to relocate the trash enclosure at the west part of the site. We looked into reconfiguring the other trash
enclosure locations and were unable to shift one to the open space because of an approved pathway and
determined the others should work okay with the extra access point at the northeast part of the site.
When you get a moment please review the attached site plan and let me know if you have any questions or
comments. If you agree with the changes made, could you please indicate your approval on the site plan so I can
forward it on to the City of Meridian in accord with their requirements for the Certificate of Zoning Compliance
application?
Thank you,

Hello,
We are reviewing your site at Lost River, and we have some questions. We would like to review this with you over
the phone if you have time this morning. Would 9 am work ok? We can call you at any number you provide.

Hi Jay,
I’m just following up on the last email I sent over. Unfortunately we were unable to find a suitable location for the
trash enclosure at the far west side of the parking lot due to the configuration of the site and location of buildings. Is
there a solution that would work for you in this circumstance?
Any thoughts you might have would be great. As you know, the City does require Republic Service’s approval of our
trash enclosure locations prior to approval of the Certificate of Zoning Compliance and Design Review, so I’d
appreciate your input.

Hi Jay,
Hope you had a good weekend!
I just wanted to reach out again about the Lost Rapids Apartment project we’re working on. We haven’t submitted
for CZC, DES yet, we’ve been working on revising the site and landscape plan per staff’s comments and have been
trying to figure out how to reconfigure to address your comment when we last spoke.
Unfortunately, with the shape of the site and the location/orientation of the buildings we haven’t been able to find a
better location for the west trash enclosure. We attempted to place it within the overflow parking lot to the north,
but it seemed like that would actually be more problematic to maneuver.
Would it be okay to place the trash enclosure on the west side as depicted in the attached, or would you prefer we
do away with that enclosure and stick with the other locations?
Any thoughts you have would be appreciated!
Thanks,

Good Morning Stephanie,
I am going to attach the enclosure and approach requirements for all of Ada and Canyon County. The one concern I
see is the enclosure up by building F looks like we would be backing a really long ways to an exit. We try to back as
little as possible especially in heavy residential areas. Another question would be is there going to be awnings over
the parking spots? Awnings usually extend past the end of the parking spot and limit the turning radius of our trucks.
As far as the locations they look good except the one by building F.
Thanks
Jay

Hi James and Bruce,
We’re working on a certificate of zoning compliance and design review for the Lost Rapids Apartments and
Townhomes located near the southwest corner of Chinden and Ten Mile. When one of you gets the chance could
you please review and verify that our proposed trash enclosure locations work okay? The attached site plan does not
include an access point that will be added at the northeast part of the site between Buildings H and I. That driveway
will provide an additional access point to the north-south driveway that extends into the Costco site and to Lost
Rapids.
Please let me know if you have any questions/comments.
Thank you,
