Design Narrative
The Oaks at Meridian
The Oaks at Meridian is a community comprised of homes articulating architectural design features of Farmhouse,
Bungalow, and Craftsman styles. These 2-story townhomes promote visually aesthetic designs that accentuate public
spaces and provide single story elements with porches, awnings, banding, and varying use of materials that visually
break the architectural massing. In addition to these elements, roof breaks, projections, and recesses provide a
complementary and proportionate level of design and detail on all four facades. The building scale and form
complement the pedestrian walkways that lead to the entrances of each home, as they are accentuated with
overhangs and porch entries. Porch lights are located at the entries of each home, which illuminate the front doors
and the addresses. The use of varying elements and details in the shutters, siding, board and batten, columns,
awnings, and trims add interest and contribute to the unique features of each of the architectural styles of the
homes at the Oaks at Meridian.
