There are still three micropath connections to Discovery Park, it makes sense to have a school connection at the north, and I agree that the internal micropaths do facilitate the north and south connections to the park through the north and south pathways. I’m ok with it. Thanks! Kim, Greetings for the new and, hopefully, “normal” year! With the new year, come new projects—including the first phase of Pinnacle (Apex Southeast). Among the pre-plat and final plat requirements to be addressed are your July 5, 2020 st pathways recommendations (1 attachment). nd The 2 attachment is the “Trails & Pathways” graphic presented to the City Council at th its August 11 public hearing. That concept proposed three (3) pathway connections in response to suggestions from Discovery Park planning discussions with Mike Barton and the City’s design consultants. Specifically, there was a concern for impacts with neighborhood “spill-over” parking near micro-paths. That led to the pre-plat proposal for a single, centrally-located pathway. rd The 3 attachment—the Apex SE pre-plat—depicts alternatives for the three (3) requested micro-path connections: - On the north, as an extension of the 10-foot pathway on the east side of the main entry road—directly opposite the Gem Prep Academy school - Mid-project as proposed and approved in the pre-plat - Near the southeast corner of the project 2 The interior N/S micro-pathways facilitate access to the north, central, and south park connections. In reality, the mid-point distance between the central micro-path and the one to the north is just over 500 feet; and approximately 425 feet to the south. Please consider these alternatives—perhaps in discussion with Mike Barton—and let us know if they may be deemed compliant with the requested three micro-path connections.
