2020-09-08 Ryan and Glenna Newby Charlene Way From:RYAN GLENNA NEWBY <rgnewby@msn.com> Sent:Monday, September 07, 2020 10:21 PM To:City Clerk Subject:1625 E. Bentley Dr. Hearing I wish to add one more thought to my earlier e-mail regarding the petitioned for changes on the table for 1625 E. Bentley Dr. The intersection of Locust Grove and Bentley/Commercial Dr., is increasingly congested and more and more pedestrians are utilizing the crosswalks in that area. Traffic speeds through going up and down Locust Grove at all hours of the day and night. There have been many accidents and near accidents. I worry about the safety of my children with new potential business building occurring on the adjacent property to mine. Families are constantly riding bikes, taking dogs for walks, teenagers walk to and from high school right through and around this property. In fact, the location of the 1625 current home drive-way adjacent to the side-walk on Locust Grove serves as the entire neighborhood bus stop. Students wait there to catch the bus each morning from 7:30-8:30am, and are dropped off starting at 3:00pm-5:00pm. Considerations of the safety of neighborhood children must be taken into account in regard to the changes petitioned for in regard to this property. Please consider the needs of current existing families and neighbors. Put your loyalties to your resident families into play and do what you say you do, by keeping Meridian a family friendly city with large open spaces, and quiet safe neighborhoods. Thank you, Glenna Newby 1
