RE: Firenze Plaza—Time Extension
Dear Bill:
Attached to this letter is an 18-month time extension application for the Firenze Plaza Preliminary Plat
H-2016-0102 and CZC/DES A-2017-0098 for the Albertsons store, and fuel center at above referenced
project. This application includes parcel S1129449825 for a total of 15.92 acres.
The property is located on the northwest corner of South Eagle Road and Amity Road. The Meridian City
Council approved the findings for H-2016-0102 on February 7, 2017, an 18-month time extension was
previously approved. The preliminary plat will expire on August 7, 2020.
The preliminary plat includes 14 commercial lots; 11 building lots, 2 common lots, and one lot to be
dedicated to ACHD for right of way. There is a time delay due to an increase in construction costs,
coordination with ACHD, and an overall labor shortage, both in the construction industry and in
employees for the new store. An 18-month time extension is requested.
We are currently working closely with ACHD on the design of the Amity and Eagle Road improvements.
We will have an update from ACHD as it relates to the site access in the next few weeks.
The permit drawings for the commercial center have been submitted to the City for permitting. We are
planning to commence construction later this fall and winter. The Final plat will be submitted once
construction has started.
