Their role is to make a recommendation to city council. The motion this evening stated that they considered all staff, applicant and public testimony. They do read every comment received and everything discussed during the hearing. The minutes of the meeting, when prepared, will show that public testimony was included. I expect that City Council will heat the application to make their decision on Tuesday, September 22. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I appreciate your participation in the public hearing process and will be sure Commissioner Fitzgerald is able to hear your feed back. Have a great night. I’m very happy that based on the traffic and physical location in proximity to the canal that the Council denied the request for increased density housing at that location…however, one thing I’m wondering about is in the deliberations/discussion among the Council, nobody based their decision primarily on community member feedback. I’m curious to know, does the Commission have the duty to listen to and take into consideration public testimony? > > I want to give a huge shoutout to Ryan Fitzgerald who didn’t want to revise the just completed community comprehensive plan.
