I am in full opposition of the rezoning as I reside on S Orleans Pl, Meridian, ID 83642. Not only will it affect the property values of our neighborhood along with surrounding subdivisions, and will have a negative impact on traffic in this already congested area. The proposed complex will add at the least an additional 300+ vehicles in an extremely high traffic area. It currently takes me, on the average of 7 mins. to exit my subdivision. We have had 2 incidents where vehicles have crashed through my fence as well as one of my neighbors, as well as numerous crashes in this area. Due in part to the added traffic generated from the apartments and houses on the SE corner on this same area. The increased traffic on Meridian Rd. and Victory Rd. will cause additional delays, traffic jams and accidents. With the exception of adding a signal light at major intersections, there have been no significant improvements to SH69 in recent years. It seems as though the developer has once again put the cart in front of the horse, as they already have signage indicating that they are currently selling/renting spaces, how can that be if it hasn't been approved? I have heard that Victory Rd is slated to be widened in the next 5-10 years, if this is the case it would seem that this rezoning should be postponed until the roads have been widened and can adequately handle the additional traffic. Further, our school systems in South Meridian are already over-stressed and this will only add to an already taxed system. West Ada County is proposing another levy with an additional increase in our taxes. This is a strong concern and therefore I oppose the addition of this annexing/zoning as it will create a higher traffic, possible direct threat to pedestrians in Strada Bellissima, possible crime increase, over stressing the school system and lowering of property values to my neighborhood. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you would like to further discuss via my email. Also please confirm that this will be entered in the public comments as opposition to this rezoning.
