Meridian City Planning & Zoning
RE: Rezoning of the Southwest corner of Victory and Meridian Roads to R15 High Density
We would like to address this issue on only two talking points, while there are many more to address.
Firstly, Traffic and Road Infrastructure:
We are native Idahoans and have been living in the Meridian area (this specific area) for over 20 years,
first in Kentucky Ridge, and then a move to Strada Bellissima in 2010. In that time period, there has
been very little or no change to the Victory Road and Meridian Road Intersection. However, also during
that same time, the following subdivisions have been added: Strada Bellissima, Timberline Estates,
Kentucky Ridge Estates Expansion, Oakwood, Edgehill, unnamed development on Linder and Victory,
SouthRidge, Fall Creek, Observation Pointe, and Red Tail.
Secondly, schools in the area:
Not having school-aged children in our household, we are still huge advocators for children and their
learning opportunities. As I understand it, West Ada Schools are already very overcrowded in this area.
Mary McPhearson is an old school and already under construction to add on buildings. Victory Middle is
over capacity, and so is Meridian High School. These schools are not equipped to keep up with this
growth, and we are people that do vote “yes” for West Ada School Districts’ needs
Thank you for the opportunity to be heard. We hope the City takes this matter seriously and does the
right thing for the protection and safety of the communities in this area. This area should NOT be
rezoned to R15 High Density!
