It may appear by the numbers that Victory Road can handle much more traffic, but those of us who live on Victory road and try to cross traffic to get to work in the morning may wait through many lights with the traffic flow that exists now. Adding 300+ potential cars to the mix is an undue hardship to those already living here. The road itself winds around the canal and has hills that make visibility a problem. The new subdivisions south of Victory road have caused increased foot traffic at the junction of Victory and Stoddard, with no pedestrian crossing or light to assist the people who are walking to get to a sidewalk. The current sidewalk dead ends on the south side of Victory Rd. It is another safety issue to add more cars to the traffic flow causing backups that have the potential to injure walkers. Also, the schools are currently at or above capacity with repeated requests for more funding. How may children will be added to the school system and where will they go to school if the current buildings are at capacity? What will it do to our property taxes when many already live on fixed incomes and can barely afford to stay in their home at this time? I am concerned for our quality of life. When we moved to Victory road we were in the country with a cow pasture across the street. Now we have developments around us and the rural atmosphere is a thing of the past. What is the cost of development on the the rural quality of life which attracted us here in the first place? It seems that development has become the goal in Meridian but it concerns me that these other factors have not been taken into consideration. Please consider denying the addition of an apartment complex to the already strained area around Meridian/Victory Rd. Thank you Fran Rogien 990 W. Victory Rd. 1
