I am in full opposition of the rezoning as I reside on S Picasso Ave, Meridian, ID 83642. Not only will it affect the property values of Strada Bellissima and other nearby subdivisions but it will also directly allow tenants of the proposed property to use S. Alfani Way as a way of shortcutting the neighborhood to access the proposed complex during high traffic times on Meridian Rd which will put a threat to the youth and bi-standards that use S. Alfani Way to walk or play on or around. This also results in a cascade of more traffic and congestion. Further, our school systems in South Meridian are already over-stressed and this will only add to an already taxed system. This will also result in a higher tax burden for property tax burden for home owners like myself. In a time when people are fleeing states with out of control government spending and taxation, now is not the time to penalize hardworking, tax paying Idahoans with the poor investments of low return apartment complexes. More homes should be built to draw in new residents who will contribute to the common good of Idaho. I urge you therefore to oppose the addition of this annexing/zoning as it will penalize existing residents, create higher traffic and possible safety risks to pedestrians in Strada Bellissima, add to poverty-related crime risks, overstress the school system and lower property values in the neighborhood.
