Adoption of the Agenda J. Ault made motion to adopt agenda, seconded by J. Nary. All ayes 3. Approval of Minutes [Action Item] A. Minutes from May 28, 2020 Regular Meeting J. Nary made motion to approve minutes, seconded by D. Lusignan. All ayes 4. Approval of the Monthly Financial Statement [Action Item] A. Financial Statement 5/1/2020-5/31/2020 J. Nary made motion to approve financial statement, seconded by J. Ault & D. Lusignan. All ayes 5. New Business [Action Item] A. Approve National Alliance of Preservation CommissionsFORUM Registration Expenses A. Belnap reported that four commissioners are interested in attending the NAPC FORUM- J. Ault, J. Nary, B. Johnston, and D. Meridian City Council Meeting Agenda June 25, 2020 – Page 2 of 3 Lusignan- generating total expense of $400. A. Belnap will look into the registration and reach out to commissioners if additional information is needed. J. Nary made motion to approve a not-to-exceed amount of $400 for NAPC FORUM registration, seconded by J. Ault. B. Discuss Adding Meridian History to Boise State's World Museum B. Fitzgerald informed the Commission about the interactive digital museum being organized by Boise State. B. Fitzgerald requested that the Commission provide copies of Meridian historical photos to add to the museum collection. B. Johnston inquired about the process to give photos to the museum and B. Nary stated that a signed letter from B. Johnston requesting that the museum attribute the photos to the Commission and the Historical Society would be sufficient. A. Belnap will set up a meeting with B. Johnston and B. Fitzgerald to go to the basement and select photos for the museum. The photos can be scanned at City Hall. D. Lusignan made motion to move forward with providing Meridian historical photos to the World Museum, seconded by J. Nary. All ayes 6. Old Business [Action Item] A. Approve Expenses for Walking Tour Brochures & PanelReplacement A. Belnap provided summary of quotes received for the Walking Tour Brochures and Panels. Commissioners discussed various factors of ordering brochures including the rate at which brochures are used, the UV coating, adjusting the format to the trifold style, the budget available for the brochures, the cost per brochure, and estimated timeline for printing. J. Nary made motion to approve a not-to-exceed amount of $1997.14 payable to Signs Etc. for the replacement of the walking tour kiosk panels, seconded by D. Lusignan. All ayes J. Evarts made motion to approve a not-to-exceed amount of $1500 payable to Modern Printers for whatever quantity of brochures the amount will afford, seconded by J. Nary. Evarts. All ayes C. Approve Master Agreement with TAG Historical Research J. Nary suggested that a Master Agreement is created for a partnership with Hull Film. The Commission agreed. J. Nary made motion to approve the Master Agreement, seconded by J. Ault. All ayes 7.Reports A. Update: Commission Social Media Efforts B. Johnston expressed concern with joining the Commission’s social media efforts with the City’s main pages and inquired about specific policies preventing commissions from having their own social media pages. B. Nary stated that he is not aware of specific codes and suggested it is a topic that can be discussed further with Mayor’s Office staff. More commissioners expressed concern with the lack of flexibility in posting, inability to comment and respond to commenters, and inaccessibility to analytics. B. Nary volunteered to bring the topic to the Chief of Staff and coordinate scheduling a meeting with A. Belnap. 8.Next Meeting: July 23, 2020 9.Adjournment J. Evarts made motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by D. Cronk. All ayes Meeting adjourned at 5:36pm.
