RE: Final 2019 season groundwater report—Pinnacle parcel
I have completed groundwater monitoring for the 2019 irrigation season on the Pinnacle property
located south of Amity and divided by Locust Grove Road. You requested I read 17 piezometers on
this large parcel just 3 times during the season. Attached is the data sheet with the readings. Also
attached is a map of the site showing GPS locations of all piezometers.
Only the pipe at I I-18 had water present at 48 inches below ground level on one reading. This test
pit was located in the low corner of a field and two waste water ditches run beside the piezometer.
Once water was not present in the ditches at the final reading, groundwater was not present. This
indicates that location will also be dry to some depth after development.
The pipe at TP 1-18 is located in a drainage area where wastewater accumulates and prevented access
to that piezometer. Soils at this point are saturated throughout the summer and they do not represent
conditions as they will exist in post-development.
I have always contended that groundwater levels over this site are typically well below 15 feet and
this 2019 data supports that statement. Monthly readings collected in 2018 which mirror the current
year data. I believe the collected data over this 2 year period shows what will be post-development
drainage conditions. You should be able to use 15 feet as a conservative value for design purposes
at any location.
