Hi Sonya, Glad to provide some points of clarification. I have also included Hethe to for reference as well. 1 Wainwright Drive predates the Master Street Map, which determines roadway classification throughout the county. Wainwright Drive between Rosepoint Avenue and the future Centrepoint Way was constructed as a collector street, however is classified as a local street on the Master Street Map. Therefor the spacing between Dashwood Place and Rosepoint Avenue does not violate current ACHD spacing standards. Additionally the existing traffic counts on this segment of Wainwright Drive are consistent with those of a local street. Thankfully the curve in Wainwright Drive west of Dashwood Lane has a rather large radius and does provide the minimum sight distance. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN OPENING ATTACHMENTS OR LINKS INSIDE THIS EMAIL.\] Hi Austin, I have a resident that has some questions on this project that I’m hoping you can assist with, as follows: The referenced email from Malissa Bernard can be found here: https://weblink.meridiancity.org/WebLink/DocView.aspx?id=188633&dbid=0&repo=MeridianCity Can staff reach out to ACHD to address Malissa Bernard's claim (letter of May 20, 2020) that the opening of Dashwood would violate ACHD's guideline of requiring 330'? I understand her claim is as follows: 1) In 2005, ACHD approved Dashwood as a cul-de-sac with limited access thereby allowing 183' between Rosepoint and Dashwood on a curve. 2) City Council went against ACHD and allowed Dashwood to be a future access as a means to not landlock the property to the south 2 3) As ACHD did not mandate a stub and had approved Dashwood as a cul-de-sac, no signage was required by ACHD. City of Meridian did not require the developer to sign the stub as the access was for limited access only to the one property owner. 4) If Dashwood were to be allowed to open to through traffic, it would no longer be "limited access" and therefore would require 330' as per ACHD guidelines. Based upon her findings, how does ACHD respond to the possible opening of Dashwood with only 183' to Rosepoint and on a curve at Wainwright? I believe this was the same reason Mr. Miller had for not wanting a stub at the Wong property - too close to a curve unless Center Pointe was configured differently at the proposed apartmets.
