1. Roll Call

2. Brainstorm possible activities and programs for Art Week 2020
M. Tzompa discussed an activity that was suggested via email from a Meridian
Resident, Brittany Hall. The Subcommittee discussed that the suggested activity,
a Tiny Art Exchange, was similar to the Art Drop. No decision was made whether
to include the activity or not.
3. Discuss specifics of the activities at Kleiner Park Block Party vs.
Downtown Meridian on September 12
Subcommittee members discussed how to incorporate the Block Party into Art
Week Saturday activities. A. Belnap suggested that all Saturday activities be
joined with the Block Party in an effort to introduce Art Week to a new audience
and to eliminate competing for attention betwe en Kleiner Park and Downtown
Meridian. M. Tzompa and M. Glaze expressed desire to keep the bulk of Art
Week activities in Downtown Meridian in order to stay loyal to and serve
downtown businesses that have come to anticipate Art Week and the business it
brings. The Subcommittee discussed the possibility of doing a chalk art activity at
the Block Party with a “Downtown Meridian” theme. It was suggested that Art
Week could move dates in order avoid any confliction. A. Belnap informed the
Subcommittee that Art Week could easily move since nothing has been
scheduled or reserved yet. The Subcommittee decided to move Art Week to
August 26-29. The Subcommittee also decided to be involve d with the Block
Party with activities to be determined at a later time.
4. Establish Meeting Time for Future Subcommittee Meeting
Next meeting will be June 11, 2020 at 5:00pm.
