Good morning,
am Terry Graves, the Program Administrator for the Yes You Can Homeownership
Program at LEAP Housing Solutions.
I had the privilege of working with this family throughout their home buying process.
This family followed every direction that was required of them to purchase
their "American Dream". They increased their income by establishing a day care. Didier
has a good job with the CoOp at the Village. They saved their money.
Elisabeth's daycare not only provides the income needed to pay part of their mortgage,
it is also a safe refuge and cultural haven for children of other Congolese families. Her
daycare is open to anyone who needs child minding, but her unique skills offer a
particular level of care for those in her cultural community.
I encourage you to allow Elisabeth to continue to operate her day care, not just for the
sake of this New American family, but for the peace of mind for the children and their
parents who receive the benefit of her services.
