My husband and I purchased a home in this subdivision almost a year ago due to the location and quality of homes. We are both retired Law Enforcement, and were looking for a wonderful place to retire and spend the rest of our lives. The proposed Modern Craftsman development is a huge concern for the residents living here. We were told that it was possible the ”Tree Farm” would be developed in the future with similar homes. The original plan looks NOTHING like what is now being proposed. My concerns are as follows: *More traffic in the area due to the ROCK HARBOR CHURCH, the FAIRBORNE subdivision, and townhomes already being built. More traffic….MORE accidents. CHINDEN is already too busy (and especially with Costco being built). *Due to the transient nature of multi-unit rental property -much more CRIME, and total disregard for the community in which we chose to live. We have young children and families living here. This will change the entire neighborhood!!!!! *Negative impact on property values which in turn will affect the City of Meridian’s revenue. *More school crowding! ***The builder has NO concern for what will happen in OUR neighborhood…this development as PROPOSED will only make them a lot of money and ruin our existing neighborhood/community*** I hope the City of Meridian/Council has the foresight to see this and actually cares for the citizens in their city. Recommendation: *STOP this development as proposed!!!! *Consider a similar housing project to what is already established surrounding this area….NO MULTI-FAMILY UNITS!!! There are plenty in Meridian already. ******Please think about the families that have purchased in this area due to the QUALITY of their lives…we all moved here for that reason! If we wanted to live in a apartment complex we would NOT have purchased here. Do NOT make this into another CALIFORNIA landscape with NO concern for the citizens YOU represent.
