My concerns with the project are as follows:
This multifamily development will add an additional 300 plus cars commuting on
Chinden.
There will be at least another 150 plus children needing to enroll in the already
overcrowded North Meridian Schools.
I have spoken with several experienced realtors with the Spurwing area and they
have confirmed that this project will negatively impact our property values.
This multifamily project is excessively cramming too many units onto this parcel as
well as the open space does not integrate very well with the units.
Spurwing Heights is a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, how much
noise/nuisances will come from this development.
How much foot traffic are we going to have in our subdivision using our subdivision
amenities (pond & picnic area) that we pay for?
I do not believe this is the right project for this area. The Spurwing Subdivision area
comprises of more expensive homes that pay much higher property taxes to the City of
Meridian than other areas in Meridian, therefore; this area should not be devalued by a
multifamily development moving next to us.
I would rather see a nice gated 55+-townhome community that includes nice
amenities with a coffee shop and a more upmarket retail space on the commercial
zoned portion.
This project is very different from the Costco project, as it is not providing revenue or employment to the
City. Planning and Zoning and City Counsel listen to our opinions on these types of project.
