Thank you Bill and Joe. We understand the time constraints and deadlines for information needed for a Staff. As such, we would
nd
like to request that the commission hearing on Modern Craftsman at Black Cat be continued to the July 2 commission hearing date.
Joe - our team will work diligently to incorporate revisions to the site design. Our aim will be to send you our proposed changes and
schedule a time to discuss them prior to you drafting a report. We understand time is of the essence and the sooner we can get you
information the better, so the onus is on our team to draft these changes and get them in your hands for review/discussion. We will
be in touch soon relative these changes and the continued dialogue.

Matt,
We also appreciate your willingness to work on these issues before we get to the hearing. I am confident the
Commission would find the project wasn’t ready for a hearing and more than likely continue you anyway. Joe is correct,
Staff cannot pause on the staff report and pick it Monday three days before the hearing. Our deadline is to have the staff
report to the clerk’s office by 5pm on Friday. If you are contemplating revisions which sounds like you are based on the
dialogue below, I encourage you to request continuance to a date certain as instructed by the City’s Attorney’s office
this morning.
Thank you,

Hi all,
Before responding to the this email I wanted to discuss with Bill but we’ve been in meetings since ours at 9am this
morning and have not had the chance to discuss anything more with him.
Regardless, I will do my best to answer your email.
2
If I wait until next week to finish this staff report and have to analyze a new plan and then rewrite large sections of the
th
staff report, I will essentially be writing 4 staff reports next week as I have a project going to CC on the 26 and two
th
going to the special P&Z hearing on the 28. I would much rather either get this done this week or continue it to a later
date.
thnd
I am full until after June 18 and due to noticing, the next available P&Z date would be July 2. Any revisions would
need to be sent over to me no later than 2 weeks prior to the meeting but preferably as early as possible in case further
discussion is needed.
Caleb, Bill, please correct me if I am wrong on any of this.
Thank you,

Joe et al –
Thank you very much for taking the time to walk through our proposed development and your concerns and questions therein.
At this time we would request you to pause on the completion of your staff report. It is our team’s intent to evolve the site plan in
order to mitigate the concerns/issues at hand. Today’s conversation was very valuable, and we are seeking to incorporate such
changes immediately in an effort to remain on schedule for the 5/21 P&Z hearing.
Would it be possible to discuss our proposed changes with you directly on Monday, prior to you completing the staff report? We’d
like to ensure our revisions are in-line with what is necessary for your recommendation in the staff report.
I am encouraged by the level of detail and care demonstrated by you and your colleagues throughout this process. We really
appreciate your team’s attention to detail and how the proposed development will stand-alone while integrating into the greater
Meridian community. We are working towards the shared objective of thoughtful land use and design to serve community needs
today and well into the future, and I am confident we will get there through continued dialogue and a collaborative approach to this
project.
Regards,
3
