Commissioners discussed alternative activities and outreach for
Preservation Month. A special subcommittee meeting was
scheduled for Wednesday, May 29 at 3pm for the commissioners
to record videos at the Walking Tour stops. The videos will be
recorded on the commissioners’ smartphones and shared with
the Commission's google drive so that the videos can be posted
on social media throughout the month. All commissioners present
at the meeting expressed interest in attending the special
subcommittee meeting.
C. Hull F ilm Next S ites
Brandon Hull presented the outline he created for the requested
virtual tour sites, City Hall/Creamery and Meridian Speedway, as
well as two additional sites. The commissioners expressed
interest in moving forward with the City Hall/Creamery and
Meridian Speedway sites. This month, the commissioners will
review the sites and give feedback to locations they want to
highlight in the virtual tour.
D. M anaging HP C S ocial M edia
AB informed the Commission on instructions she received from
the City's Communications Manager regarding the Commission's
social media. A social media manager for the Commission's
accounts needs to be chosen, and that manager will create a
content calendar each month with posts 3x per week. This will
ensure that the Commission has enough material for consistent
posting on a social media account and establish proper language
and voice for the account. The commissioners discussed the
City's involvement and monitoring of the Commission's social
media sites. A concern was raised that the Commission's social
media would not be ready for posting by Preservation Month. J.
Nary will reach out to Shandy Lam, Communications Manager, to
ask clarifying questions.
6.O ld Business
A. Walking Tour P ost P anel Replacement
AB found out that the Meridian Downtown Corporation owns the sign
posts around downtown, however the Commission can replace panels on
those signs. AB will get the contact from Trademark Signs in order to
bring back a proof next month.
