Broadway Meridian, ID 83642 Re:Hughes Fire Building – Design Review and Certificate of Zoning Compliance This project concerns new construction of a fire truck certification facility in the McNelis Subdivision located near Ten Mile and Ustick. We will address each item below as it might relate to this building: 1.Color and Materials – The building material will consist of a pre-engineered metal building warehouse with a wood frame construction office at the front of the building. The warehouse will use PBR panels with a standing seam metal roof finishes. The office portion will use stucco and stone base finishes with stained wood columns for the entry awning. The materials being used to add articulation to the building façade include varying colors, reveal layouts and wood accent panels. 2.Site Plan and Building Layout: a.Building Location – will be on south central portion of the site. b.Parking areas – Parking areas are laid out on the south portion of the site c.Street Layout and Internal Circulation – The parking circulation ties into W McNelis Dr at the southeast and southwest corners of the site. Pedestrian access connects to the existing sidewalk following W McNelis Dr, with additional pedestrian access through the parking to connect to the building entrance. 3.Lighting – The exterior of the building will be illuminated by several wall packs along the primary facades to enhance the visual interest of the building. Parking lot lighting is also provided throughout the parking areas for safe pedestrian access through the site. 4.Cohesive Design – The building fits into the surrounding industrial area with the use of more traditionally industrial materials (metal, stucco & stone), while having a unique presence in the layout of these materials and the building massing. 725 E. 2nd Street Meridian, ID 83642 • 208.884.2824 • Fax: 208.287.8166 • www.neUdesignARCH.com GENERAL NOTES: A.
