Re:Calvary Chapel Meridian – Design Review and Certificate of Zoning Compliance
This project concerns new construction of a church facility in the McNelis Subdivision located
near Ten Mile and Ustick.
We will address each item below as it might relate to this building:
1.Color and Materials – The building material will be wood frame construction with stucco
and metal panel finishes. The materials being used to add articulation to the building
façade include varying colors, reveal layouts and wood accent panels.
2.Site Plan and Building Layout:
a.Building Location – will be on the northeast portion of the site.
b.Parking areas – Parking areas are laid out on the south portion of the site
c.Street Layout and Internal Circulation – The parking circulation ties into McNelis
Ave at the southeast corner of the site. Pedestrian access follows alongside the
drive aisle, with additional pedestrian access through the parking to connect to
the building entrance. There is also a proposed walking path around the
perimeter of the site.
3.Lighting – The exterior of the building will be illuminated by several wall packs along the
primary facades to enhance the visual interest of the building. Parking lot lighting is also
provided throughout the parking areas for safe pedestrian access through the site.
4.Cohesive Design – The building fits into the surrounding industrial area with the use of
more traditionally industrial materials (metal and stucco), while having a unique presence
in the layout of these materials and the building massing.
