Peters made motion to adopt, seconded by B. Zahn Griffith . 3.Approval of M inutes [Action Item] A. F ebruary 13, 2020 M eeting M inutes J. Peters made motion to approve minutes, seconded by B. Zahn Griffith 4.Repor ts A. Approval of M onthly E xpenses [Action Item] B. Zahn Griffith made motion to approve monthly expenses, seconded by M. Tzompa. B. Initial P oint G aller y Report M. Tzompa provided report, stating that attendance at the last Opening Reception was around 40 people and was well received. 5.O ld B usiness [Action Item] A. Committee S tructur e and Assignments J. Peters clarified that she would like to be only on the Public Art subcommittee. L. Cloninger was added to the Public Art Committee and M. Tzompa volunteered to be interim on the Public Art committee until the vacant commission seats are filled. Point Gallery subcommittee. The subcommittee will return with recommendations. C. Approval of Via Partnerships Survey Commissioners reviewed methods of distribution. A. Belnap stated she follow through with communication avenues within the City. L. Mauldin stated she would contact the Meridian Symphony Orchestra. M. Tzompa stated she would contact Mary Jensen from Treasure Valley Children’s Theater. J. Peters stated she would contact Gretchen Caserotti from Meridian Library. The commission decided the distribution date is March 20th. M. Tzompa made motion to approve survey and take action in distribution, seconded by B. Zahn Griffith. D. 2020 Calendaring Art E vents A. Belnap updated the commissioners that Concerts on Broadway Sept. 12 will be separate from Kleiner Park Live and Kings of Swing has been reserved for that day. M. Tzompa suggested that Art Week be shortened to Wednesday- Saturday in order to concentrate activities and because public participation has been limited on Tuesdays in the past. B. Zahn Griffith suggested that the Art Drop still begins on a Monday. B. Zahn Griffith made motion to finalize Sept 7-12 for the Art Drop and Sept 9-12 for Art Week, seconded by J. Peters. 6.New Business [Action Item] A. Discussion: Initial Point Gallery Saturday Accessibility L. Mauldin stated that the City ’s resources are limited to have the Initial Point Gallery open on Saturdays. Commissioners considered opening the Initial Point Gallery on other nights of the week. L. Mauldin delegated further discussion to the Initial Point Gallery subcommittee. The subcommittee will return to commission with recommendations. B. Initial Point Gallery Artwork Label Prices L. Mauldin requested that further discussion on the topic of prices on labels and the artwork selection process be delegated to the Initial Zahn Griffith. B. Review of P ublic/Private Mural Process A. Belnap reviewed the budget enhancement request for the Public/Private Mural fund and the process of putting a mural on the Zamzows Mill. E. Kane recommended that the commission put out a request for proposals from Meridian businesses to respond to. J. Peters commented that the Public Art subcommittee will design the request for proposals at their next meeting in April. A. Belnap stated that she would confirm with the Finance Department of what it would take to carry over the funds into next fiscal year. 7.Next M eeting: April 9, 2020 8.Adjournment J.
