2020-03-02 Meridian Chamber of Commerce Charlene Way From:Sean Evans <ceo@meridianchamber.org> Sent:Monday, March 02, 2020 8:50 AM To:City Clerk Subject:File Number: CUP H-2019-0142. Planning and Zoning Commissioners, On behalf of the Economic Development Committee of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce, we encourage you to vote yes on the Conditional Use Permit requested by the developers of the Union 93 project (formerly Meridian Station). The Economic Development Committee of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce is made up of invested business leaders from the Meridian business community. The group meets on a regular basis to gather information and to advocate for issues of significant importance to the Chamber membership and the economic wellbeing of our community. The Union 93 project (formerly Meridian Station) is a project that is making a major investment in the redevelopment of downtown Meridian. This project is one of many, that for many years now, has been the goal of those that saw great opportunity in the revitalization of Meridian’s downtown district. This project will be a significant step in the vision of making downtown Meridian a place to live, work, and shop. The developer on this project, The Galena Fund, has included in this project additional public parking that exceeds the requirements of the project, but needs this height variance to provide the additional parking spaces and make their project financially sound. This project is a very positive investment for Meridian, and we should approve the Conditional Use Permit and encourage others to make the investment in downtown Meridian. Respectfully, Sean Evans President/CEO Direct: 208-577-2440 Cell: 208-484-0489 Email: ceo@meridianchamber.org http://www.meridianchamber.org 1
