2019-01-08 David and Lorri Brenneman1/4/2020 Meridian City Clerk 33 E Broadway, Suite 104 Meridian, ID 83642 RE: Modification to the Development Agreement (Inst. #102012598) Goddard Creek Subdivision Ladies and Gentlemen of the Council, Please respectfully consider the following facts, which support non approval of the rezone from offices to townhomes in the area referenced above. Fact 1: To add more 24-hour housing in that area is going against what you decided just a few months ago as it WILL IMPACT THE DOCUMENTED PARKING ISSUE ALREADY PRESENT IN THE AREA. There is not enough parking in that congested area for the current landowners and apartment occupants. You as a council decided (recently) that parking was too congested there in July of 2019. You made the decision to block off the end of Lolo Pass Lane and take the area where up to 10 apartment occupant vehicles parked and made it a no parking fire zone. The reason we were given was that too many cars were parking along Goddard and Lolo Pass and you needed it clear for fire emergency. The streets are packed so full now in the evenings that they are often one lane traffic only. Fact 2: Keep emergency services in mind by NOT CREATING FURTHER BURDENS ON EMERGENCY SERVICES IN THE AREA. Offices would not add additional burden on emergency services for the current Goddard and surrounding streets during the evening hours, which is when parking becomes such an issue and the adjacent streets go to one lane traffic. The police will continue to be called for the Selway Apartment vehicles that stack up in front on the fire hydrant at the corner of N Goddard and W Apgar Creek. These police calls result in necessary, but costly and avoidable emergency services spending. Approving more high-density housing in the area will burden other streets in the same manner; you simply cannot control the amount of cars and guests the occupants will have. Current landowners would like the consideration that their safety is a concern from the council. Fact 3: High density housing for this area has already been addressed in the inclusion of the Selway Apartments. Respectfully Submitted, David and Lorri Brenneman, Homeowners on Lolo Pass Wa .
