We specialize in strength in conditioning with athletes. We have been in meridian for 6+ years and have developed a great clientele of Professional, Collegiate, and high school athletes. We have great relationships with athletic directors, universities, coaches, parents, and athletes throughout the valley. We also do a lot of training off-site inside the schools like The College of Idaho football program and Mtn. View High School. Being located in Meridian has been a huge part of our success because of the proximity to the high schools in the surrounding areas. Lanark St. Meridian, ID 83642 Re: Occupancy Permit On-site Review and Code Analysis 23 May 2019 Mr. Bateman, Pursuant to the request by the City of Meridian for a code review to determine if the existing use of the space complies with code requirements, please see the following. Applicable Codes: The original building design was based upon the 2009 International Building Code, but the change in use from an F-2 (low hazard manufacturing) to an A-3 (gymnasium without spectator seating) requires us to review the space against the current code, the 2015 International Building Code. As I understand it the areas of primary concern are exiting (number, width and access) as well as plumbing fixture count. I visited the site on May 21,2019 and observed that the layout of the space and the access to existing exit doors Occupancy Type: A-3 (Gymnasium without spectator seating) Occupant Load (IBC Table 1004.1.2): 50sf./occupant. 7,OOOsf/50 =140 occupants. Required Exit Width (IBC Section 1005.3.2):.2in/occupant. 140 x.2 = 28 inches Provided Exit Width: 144" Minimum Number of Exits (IBC Table 1006.3.1): 2 Number of Exits Provided: 4 Maximum Common Path of Egress Travel (IBC Table 1006.2.1): 75' Longest Common Path of Egress Travel: 61'-8" Required Plumbing Fixtures (IBC Table 2902.1): 140 total occupants = 70 male and 70 female occupants Water Closets (Urinals) Male 1 per 125 occupants = 1 Female 1 per 65 Occupants = 2 Provided Plumbing Fixtures: Water Closets (Urinals) Male 3 Female 2 Lavatories 1 per 200 Occupants =1 1 per 200 Occupants =1 Lavatories 2 2 Based on the review above, I find that the current use meets the current code for exit width, number of exits, common path of egress travel and required plumbing fixtures. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this code analysis please do not hesitate to call.
