replaced, if MAC will allow sponsors to override existing wraps not
ready for re -wrap, and process of establishing more clear

E. M eridian Art Week D ebrief
• Maria: had more programming, film, cultural performance, more
robust kickoff event on Tuesday. Mid-week low attendance.
Spin art was great, lots of fun. Alcohol (?) ink art fun event also.
• Maria/Bonnie Takeaways/Suggestions: To curb low turnout,
move Art Week to Wednesday start. Greater presence by
commissioners mid-week. Would like to see more professional
artists, try to use social media to attract more professionals.
Greater advertising efforts. Competitions among artists in real
time?
• Jessica feedback: Maybe incorporate other forms of art, such
as dance (as suggested by one youth chalk art competitor),
which may draw more people in. Make sure event participation
communication is clear (who is providing chalk/supplies for
events, etc). Think strategically about theme and communicate
clearly with public/participants. Marketing concerns – how great
is the presence of marketing the event in the community to the
general public, beyond the scope of people involved/interested
in the arts? Maybe increase marketing efforts to public.
• Gretchen: Coordinate effectively with other city events to
minimize conflict.
• Maria will reach out to other commissioners not present or any
commissioners with additional thoughts and share with group if
any other feedback comes about.
• Jay: Shared touching story of woman who found art drop piece
and how it changed her life.
