Brooksburg Pl. Meridian in Alpine Pointe Subdivision. Our home borders the proposed development of Delano Subdivision. Please find attached a letter of concern regarding the application for the proposed Delano Subdivision & Apartments on Jasmine Ln. in Meridian. We understand that the application will be heard on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. We respectfully ask the council to consider changing the high density R-15 and R- 40 to medium density of R-8 bordering Alpine Subdivision, transitioning to R-15 with no apartments north of Jasmine Ln. We look forward to attending the meeting on September 17th and hearing from the council. Sincerely, Jim and Jennifer Ostyn Jim and Jennifer Ostyn 4019 N. Brooksburg Place Meridian, ID 83646 September 14, 2019 City of Meridian Idaho To the Honourable Tammy de Weerd, Mayor, To the Members of the Meridian City Council: In Care Of the Meridian City Clerk cityclerk@meridiancity.org Subject: Comments on the Devco Delano Subdivision Development Dear City of Meridian officials: We would like to comment on the above for the September 17th meeting. As residents of Alpine Pointe and on the border of the proposed project, we have multiple concerns with the proposal. From the Planning and Zoning meeting we attended last, the council denied the application for many reasons. The council said among other concerns that McMillan Road is already at maximum, and the area schools in the zone of the project are as well. These concerns are before the 250+ units of the Brickyard Apartments that are still under construction, will be rented along with the 85 proposed units of DevCo plus the MUR high density 5 acres to be yet more apartments. The proposed addition, will potentially only add to this problem. We support the following and ask you to please consider: 1. Single story R-8 bordering Alpine Pointe. 2. Transition to R-15 toward the Brickyard. 3. R-4 to R-15 only on the MUR 5 acre portion keeping all apartments south of Jasmine. 4. Working with residents of Alpine Pointe to create a viable solution. Thank you for your service to our community and for taking the time to hear our concerns. We look forward to hearing from the officials at the September 17th meeting. Sincerely, Jim and Jennifer Ostyn This photo is of our backyard, showing the current Brickyard apartments and will border the proposed Delano Subdivision. The homes, noise and traffic will directly impact us. Thus we are asking for medium density rather than high density. Thank you again.
