CITY OF MERIDIAN RESOLUTION NO. 19-2159
BY THE CITY COUNCIL: BERNT, BORTON, CAVENER,
MILAM, PALMER, LITTLE ROBERTS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO,
SETTING FORTH CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PURPOSES TO DECLARE SURPLUS
PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN TO DONATE
WORM WIGWAMS AND CAN-O-WORMS TO BOISE URBAN GARDEN SCHOOL (B.U.G.S.).
WHEREAS , it is in the best interest of the City of Meridian to declare that a certain Worm
Wigwams and Can-O-Worms as surplus as these particular items are no longer needed or used by the
City of Meridian;
WHEREAS , the City of Meridian’s purchasing policy allows surplus City property to be donated
to other agencies exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
when the value of the property in question is of nominal value, that is, valued at less than the cost of
disposing of the property;
WHEREAS , the cost of maintaining the Worm Wigwams and Can-O-Worms would result in the
unnecessary expenditure of City funds; and
WHEREAS , the City of Meridian desires to donate the Worm Wigwam and Can-O-Worms to
Boise Urban Garden School (B.U.G.S.), which is exempt from federal income tax under Section
501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, who teaches youth and adults the fundamentals of gardening
through science, nutrition, and environmental based lesson plans and activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorize and declare that a certain Worm
Wigwams and Can-O-Worms are surplus property.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorize the conveyance of the Worm
Wigwams and Can-O-Worms to Boise Urban Garden School (B.U.G.S.).
