After due consideration, the Committee decided to allow a variance request for you to construct a six (6) tall wooden fence in your side street setback area. This fence location is as shown on the attached sketch and is subject to the following conditions: 1. The face of the fence shall be set a minimum of 17.5 feet from the yard-side edge of sidewalk along S.E. 3rd Way. 2. The ground area between the fence and sidewalk shall be landscaped and maintained by you. 3. The board side of the fence shall face out toward the street. 4. The City of Meridian has no jurisdiction in the enforcement of the provisions of your subdivision's Protective Covenants. We recommend, and note that you have obtained approval from your homeowner's association for this fence location. 5. We recommend that you contact Dig-Line at 342-1585 for location of underground utilities prior to excavation for your fence posts. 6. Please obtain a building permit for your fence from the City of Meridian Building Department prior to beginning construction. Please call for an inspection after the fence construction is completed. September 27, 1999 Paul Diehl Architectural Committee Meridian Greens Homeowners Association RE: Fence Setback Variance Mr. Diehl, This is to request a fence setback variance for Meridian Greens, Unit No.3, Block 12, Lot 11, street address 2199 SE 5th Way. Please refer to the attached drawing. We would like to extend the existing fence from the back (northwest) corner of the house up to the back (northwest) comer of the garage. This would put the back (west) garage door and air conditioner behind a fence, These are currently visible from the street. We are requesting a setback variance of 17'6" at the back corner of the house, which would give us a 6'6" clearance between the house and the fence for access into the backyard, We feel that this setback would not interfere with intersection visibility. This change will give us privacy between the garage and back yard, added security for that door, and enhance the looks ofthe property.
