UDC Text Amendments for Wine and Beer Shops

Please consider the following UDC text amendments related to specifying standards for
wine and beer shops.
RESTAURANT: A. The use of a site for the primary purpose of food preparation, having a
commercial
kitchen and cooking facilities, and where meals are regularly served to the public for compensation. The use
includes, but is not limited to, cafe, coffee shop, delicatessen, diner, eatery, grill, pizza parlor, restaurant,
retail bakery, sushi bar, steakhouse.
RETAIL STORE, WINE AND BEER SALES AND SERVINGS: The use of a site that offers wine and/or beer
to the public for monetary compensation and offers servinos of such for
purchase by the bottle or olass. The
use includes, but is not limited to, wine shops and brewino supply stores. The use does not include drinkinq
establishments or restaurants as herein defined. The use does not include stores that sell wine and beer but
do not offer servinqs.
ALLOWED USE TABLES:
Add Retail Store, Wine and Beer Sales and Servings as a principle permitted use in the C-G, C-C O-T, TN-
C, and C-N districts and allowed as an accessory use within the H-E district.
11-4-3-44: RETAIL STORE. WINE AND BEER SALES AND SERVTNGS:
A. The aoplicant shall maintain a current wine and beer sales permit for on
premise consumption (which
includes retail sales). Liquor sales shall be prohibited.

limited to desiqnatinq specific areas for consumption and posting
such areas as aqe-restricted
C. Wine and beer servinos.-shall be limited to the followinq time periods:
11:00 a.m. to g:00

Hi! Due to the fact that I just recieved the email today, I won't be able to attend the meeting. Being at
work, I was only able to quickly scan the document. I just wanted to mention that I do serue food, and I
have my closing posted as nine, but sometimes it takes a bit longer to allow the customers to finish. I
would like to see the hours extended till ten if possible.

to City code that is proposed to
allow businesses such as yours to offer servings of wine/beer for purchase by the bottle or glass. l've
attached a copy of the staff report that l've prepared for the hearing tomorrow night (7121). lf you would
like to submit any comments (for or against) on the proposed amendment, please submit those prior
to
the hearing tomorrow night.

Thank you very much for keeping me in the loop on the new City code. All of the codes
you have look good except for one. The seruing of beer/wine time frame.
t-4-3-44 RETAIL STORE. WINE AND BEER SALES AND SERVINGS:

B. Applicant shall complv with all state, county, and local laws reoarding serving alcohol, including b
limited to designating soecific areas for consumption and postinq such areas as age-restricted.
C. Wine and beer servinqs shall be limited to followinq time oeriods: 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
I am aKing for the time period to change from 9:00pm to 10:00pm for seruing. The
reason for this is that on the third Thursday of the month we have our Educational
Wine Classes from 7:30pm - 9:00pm. Trying to get people out of here at 9:00pm is not
always easy. Also during the Holidays we have had people ask to have a Christmas get
together here. Again, trying to close at 9:00pm becomes difficult. So if you would
consider this proposal it would be greatly appreciated. As you know, I am
NOT A BAR
and never will be, but in some instances that extra hour would be helpful!
