WHEREAS, Meridian City Code § 13-2-3 provides that the Director of the Meridian
Parks and Recreation Department, where necessary for the efficient management and oversight
of parks, is authorized to adopt director's orders and
WHEREAS, Meridian City Code § 13-2-3 further provides that such Director's Order
shall have the effect of law upon its approval and adoption by resolution of the Meridian City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Meridian deems the effectuation of this
Director's Order to be in the best interest of the City of Meridian;

Section 1. That the Meridian Parks and Recreation Department Director's Order
regarding Suspension of Closure of Meridian Settler's Park for Movie Night, attached hereto, is
hereby adopted and approved.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
adoption and approval.. h

DIRECTOR'S ORDER
SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF CLOSURE OF MERIDIAN SETTLERS PARK FOR MOVIE NIGHT
PURPOSE: To suspend closure of Meridian Settlers Park in order to hold Movie Night, and to
establish purpose and conditions of such extended hours.
ORDER: Pursuant to the authority vested in the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department
under Meridian City Code section 13-2-7, it is hereby ordered that the park closing time
shall be extended in that portion of Meridian Settlers Park designated for Movie Night
activities on Friday nights in June, July and August, from one-half hour after sunset to
one-half hour after the conclusion of the movie. Only activities directly associated with
Movie Night, including watching the movie and purchasing concessions, shall be allowed
during these extended hours, and only that portion of the park designated for activities
directly associated with Movie Night shall be open during these extended hours. All
other areas of Meridian Settlers Park shall remain closed to the public one-half hour after
sunset as per Meridian City Code section 13-2-6. The exception for transit through
otherwise closed areas of the park, as set forth in Meridian City Code section 1.3-2-7(A), shall not
apply; during the Movie Night event, no person shall be allowed in any closed area for any
purpose. Reentry after leaving the event area shall not be allowed.
