We'll certainly take your comments into consideration when we hear the application at the public hearing, which I hope you can attend. Keep in mind, connections to arterial roads, especially state highways such as Eagle Rd, are limited by ACHD and ITD to increase safety and efficiency of those roads. Roads like Dashwood were purposely left as an incomplete cul de sac with the red/white signs at the end as a future connection to the undeveloped property to bring its traffic to the collector roads such as Wainwright. I haven't personally reviewed the application yet, but I imagine that would be the intent from your explanation of the situation. Again, thank you for reaching out and know that your message will be considered by council. Ty Palmer I City Council, Seat 3 City of Meridian 33 E. Camas Creek Way City: Meridian State: ID Zip Code: 83646 Subject: Proposed Delano Park access through Alpine Pointe subdivision by way of Dashwood Place Message: Dear Mayor Tammy and the Meridian City Council, I am writing to you as a resident of the Alpine Pointe subdivision. As you know, a developer has asked to connect his proposed development, Delano Park, which when finished could have several thousand residents, to Eagle Road by way of Dashwood Place, a quiet culdesac in Alpine Pointe. Rather than providing adequate ingress/egress for this development directly to Eagle Road, the developer prefers to route the traffic from his development (estimated at upwards of 4,000 trips through Alpine Pointe each weekday) through our serene subdivision of mostly retirees and older middle-aged couples. This will affect every resident of Alpine Pointe, not just those unfortunate few who live on Dashwood Place, as many drivers will no doubt continue through Alpine Pointe to McMillan and Locust Grove. We all know that growth is inevitable when you're living in a great little city like Meridian, but must we allow developers to take the easy way out, when a small change in their plans could help ensure a peaceful and safe lifestyle for the hundreds of households living in Alpine Pointe? The traffic, noise, speeding, and yes, probably crime, that would be inevitable if this access road is approved, quite rightfully belong elsewhere — and it's the developer's responsibility to provide the access that Delano Park needs without doing so at the expense of the residents of Alpine Pointe. I do ask you, as our elected officials, to consider this matter gravely and fairly. Please do not allow the developer to use Alpine Pointe as cheap access to Delano Park. Thank you for your service to our city. Best Regards, Laura McDougal Trairatnobhas Submitted 01:39 AM UTC — 23 January 2019. We appreciate you sending in your thoughts and comments on possible changes to the Alpine Pointe subdivision where you reside. I have checked with our Planning Department regarding this request. I was informed that City Staff had scheduled a meeting with the developer a week ago to discuss the project, but it was canceled by the developer, and the City is still waiting to hear when they would like to reschedule. So at this time, the City does not have an open application for this project. I do want to let you know that once the developer has an open application, the City takes several steps to assure the public is aware of new projects and developments that will have an impact on the community and require a public hearing. 1. Postcards are mailed to residents owning property within 300 feet 2. A sign is posted on site by the applicant a minimum of ten days prior to the hearing 3. Notices are published in The Meridian Press on Friday. Generally 14-18 days before the hearing 4. We post public hearing notices on our website at http://apps.meridiancity.org/CLERKSCONTENT/pubhearnot detail.aspx A public hearing provides an opportunity for citizens to comment, this would be the best way to have your voice heard. I have also confirmed with our City Clerk that if this becomes an open application, your comments will be part of the public record. I hope you find this information helpful. Thank you again for contacting us with your concerns. Josha Iverson I Administrative Assistant I City of Meridian I Mayor's Office 33 E.
