Clerk – Please include the attached response in the project file for this project.
Matt – In response to your question pertaining to compliance with design standards, review will take place at the
time of CZC/DR approval. However, you should review the Architectural Standards Manual and the associated design
review application checklist on our website to ensure the elevations comply with those standards (and make any
changes necessary) prior to submittal of the application.
Thanks,
Sonya

Sonya’
It may be a moot point now but I did draft a written response to the Staff Report (see attached). Please let me know
what I need to think about for next steps. Thanks for all your help.

No, that’s ok, the Commission and Staff just likes to know up front if you’re in agreement with the staff report or if
not, what the issues are.

I do not have a written response…I guess I didn’t know I was supposed to have one. I am planning on being there in
an hour but just wasn’t aware of the written response. Is that a deal breaker?

RE: CUP Staff Report Comments and Conditions of Approval
Dear Sirs:
The applicant and owners of Sulamita Church wish to thank planning staff and commissioners for services
rendered in receiving approval of the requested CUP. In the “Agency Comments & Conditions” the only
comment or condition by the applicant to be questioned would be item #8 which calls for the proposed
church project design to comply with the provisions of the UDC and “City of Meridian Architectural
Standards Manual”. Will compliance with these articles be determined via “City Design Review” and/or
“Certificate of Zoning Compliance” processes? The Sulamita Church project was designed and accepted
by owners several years ago. The applicant and owner therefore want to confirm that there will be
consideration given through the DR and CZC review processes and that planning staff will be willing to work
with the applicant and owner to limit or minimize alterations to the existing and owner approved plans.
Besides the aforementioned question regarding design review, the applicant and owner accept the
“Agency Comments & Conditions” in full and agree to abide by them. Please do not hesitate to respond
if you have further questions or comments as a follow up.
Kindest regards,
