RE: Mountain View High School Certificate of Zoning Compliance/Design Review,
2000 S. Millennium Way, Meridian ID 83642
Planning and Zoning Representative,
The intent of this letter is to provide an explanation summarizing the proposed project
that has been submitted for CZC/DR and approved for Conditional Use Permit on Sept 20th,
2018. This proposal will provide Mountain View High School with additional services
ensuring a better learning environment for students and staff alike. The proposal address
two areas of concern.
1) Provide additional classroom spaces to reduce the need of portable classrooms
and reduce student count in existing classrooms.
2) Expand the existing cafeteria to better serve the growing student population.
To address these listed concerns, it is proposed that a new 25,204 SF (Gross) addition be
constructed on the southern portion of the existing school adjacent to the cafeteria. Of the
25,200 SF, a two-story classroom wing is to be constructed consisting of approximately
22,600 SF, providing an additional 16 classrooms with support facilities. The remaining
2,600 SF will be utilized to expand the existing cafeteria to accommodate more students.
Construction of the classroom and cafeteria addition will require selective demolition of
the existing structure as well as demolition of the courtyard that serves the existing
cafeteria. In -lieu of the demolished courtyard, it is proposed that a new courtyard to be
constructed to better serve the students during the utilization of the cafeteria spaces.
Exterior finish of the proposed construction is to stay true to the original aesthetic and like
materials will be utilized to blend the new construction with the existing.
With the construction of this addition, Mountain View High School will have the ability to
provide additional classroom spaces that will help eliminate portable classrooms and to
expand the existing cafeteria to better serve the students for years to come.
Thank you. Principal

RE: Photometric Test Report
2000 S. Millennium Way, Meridian ID 83642
Planning and Zoning Representative,
As required by the Certificate of Zoning Compliance, we are reporting on the photometric
test for any light fixtures with a maximum output of 1,800 lumens for the Mountain View
High School Addition.
Referring to sheet E101 (Partial Electrical Site Plan), you will see that we are providing (10)
new exterior lighting fixtures along the perimeter of the building adjacent to all openings
with a varying foot-candle measurement of 11.7-24.4 FC. It is our intent to provide fixtures
that represent the current light fixture aesthetic and intensity that is currently utilized at
Mountain View High School. Of the (10) lighting fixtures, (9) will have an output of 3,000
lumens and the remaining light fixture, located adjacent to the electrical room entry will
have an output of 1,500 lumens. Refer to sheet E102 for cut sheets for further information
on proposed light fixtures.
Thank you.
