D. Upcoming C ity 125th Anniver sary [Action Item]
Commission would like to present an update to City Council in recognition
of the 125th anniversary of the town site filing.
E. Review and D iscussion on Historic Preser vation M onth Night
Commissioners discussed the event. We had higher attendance
than ever before, but because of that success we may need to
consider hosting two events next year, instead of only one. This
may allow us to take smaller groups to more businesses; it just
may be over the course of two nights (with a shorter time
commitment for both the volunteers and guests). Zamzows’ Mill
may also justify just having its own event.
F. Review and D iscussion on M eridian Histor y Course
D. Cronk recommended more marketing next year. B. Johnston
also recommended hosting the class as a community education
class again, and then maybe the next year we offer another
professional development opportunity for teachers.

are now up on the building and the interior of the building is b eing
demolished to make room for exhibits. Goal opening: November 1.
9. Next M eeting
J. Jones asked about if/when we would be getting another youth
commissioner to fill E. Kramer ’s seat, if that would be happening in
August or September. B. Nary clarified that youth appointments are
generally done in September.
