Commissioner Larsen made a motion to approve the agenda as amended.

1. Community Recycling Fund
(a). Fund balance — Discussion of recent $1,200 donation from PW Expo Event
(b). Recycle a Bicycle - Purchase of SWAC Banner(s) — Continued Discussion
Commissioner Glenn provided updated spreadsheet reflecting current balance of fund; SWAC
would like to extend a thank you to Public Works Department for the recent donation of 1206.34
to the MCRF.
Purchase for previously discussed banners is approved with total expense being less than 400.00.
Commissioner Glenn to contact Commissioner Caldwell to proceed with order.

B. New Business
1. Republic Services' Annual CPI -Rate Adjustment Report
Rodney Remling with Republic Services presented the report and spreadsheet reflecting the
proposed changes in rates for FY2019. Finance staff did vet the numbers in the report and
spreadsheet. General discussion on concerns over the F IW charges, the unknown residential
and commercial recycling changes and fee impacts.
Motion by Commissioner Larson to continue further discussion and any recommendation to the
August SWAC meeting. All ayes, motion carried

The physical check to Meridian Food Bank should be generated next Wednesday, once AP payments are approved by
Council on Tuesday. The check will be mailed the same day.
I will complete the JV's to move the dollars to both Care to Share and the Community Recycling funds for the month of
June.

3. Approval of the Agenda: A Motion to Approve was made by Commissioner Larsen and
seconded by Commissioner Nelson. Motion passed.
4. Approval of Minutes for May 25, 2018 and Special Meeting May 31, 2018: A Motion to
Approve both Meeting Minutes was made by Commissioner Larsen and seconded by
Commissioner Nelson. Motion passed.
5. Old Business
A. Annual Public Works Expo, June 7, 2018 — SWAC Booth — Close out discussion (Meg
Larsen, Commissioner): Commissioner Larsen thanked volunteers for assisting with the booth
event. There was a steady flow of people. Everyone agreed the focus on plastics contamination
was a good idea this year.
B. Community Recycling Fund
(1) Recycle a Bicycle Event- Banner proposal for a SWAC banner to be used not just for
this event, but also for other SWAC activities. Commissioner Caldwell reported on the 2
estimates she received (recommended size and cost). Councilwoman Milam researched
the price drop if SWAC approves purchase of two banners instead of one. Topic
continued until July meeting so Commissioner Glenn can report on the balance of the
approved funding for Recycle a Bicycle to see if it will cover 2 banners.
(2) FY 18 Project Updates (Mike Barton, Parks & Recreation; and, Meridian Library
Representative) — Project updates were made. Both are on track.
