1. Call to Order: 4:00 p.m.

3. Approval of the Agenda: A Motion to Approve was made by Commissioner Larsen and
seconded by Commissioner Nelson. Motion passed.
4. Approval of Minutes for May 25, 2018 and Special Meeting May 31, 2018: A Motion to
Approve both Meeting Minutes was made by Commissioner Larsen and seconded by
Commissioner Nelson. Motion passed.
5. Old Business
A. Annual Public Works Expo, June 7, 2018 — SWAC Booth — Close out discussion (Meg
Larsen, Commissioner): Commissioner Larsen thanked volunteers for assisting with the booth
event. There was a steady flow of people. Everyone agreed the focus on plastics contamination
was a good idea this year.
B. Community Recycling Fund
(1) Recycle a Bicycle Event- Banner proposal for a SWAC banner to be used not just for
this event, but also for other SWAC activities. Commissioner Caldwell reported on the 2
estimates she received (recommended size and cost). Councilwoman Milam researched
the price drop if SWAC approves purchase of two banners instead of one. Topic
continued until July meeting so Commissioner Glenn can report on the balance of the
approved funding for Recycle a Bicycle to see if it will cover 2 banners.
(2) FY 18 Project Updates (Mike Barton, Parks & Recreation; and, Meridian Library
Representative) — Project updates were made. Both are on track.

A. Republic Services Second Quarter Summary of Fiscal Year 2018 and HHW/Recycling Charts -
Review (Konrad McDaniel, Republic Services) — Konrad McDannel was the presenter of
Republic Services' Reports and Charts.

Motion was made by Commissioner Larson to propose the following statement be presented to
City Council for approval and issued to City of Boise in order to confirm our commitment to
recycling programs and the Hefty Energy Bag program. Seconded by Commissioner Walters.
All ayes motion carries.
SWAC remains committed to the principle of offering recycling options to the citizens of
Meridian based on current conditions as well as future conditions that may cause
programs to change.
C Glass Recycling — Continued discussion- no discussion necessary, item is slated for City
Council meeting June Stn
