G-001_COVER SHEETPROJECT NARRATIVE THIS IS AN EXISTING BUILDING THAT HAS A NEW OWNER. WHEN THE OWNER WENT TO FILE FOR A NEW OCCUPANCY PERMIT PER ZONING COMPLIANCE (NO CHANGE IN IN USE OR OCCUPANCY TYPE), A LIFE SAFETY CONCERN WAS IDENTIFIED. SINCE THAT TIME, OUR OFFICE WAS HIRED TO INSPECT THE EXISTING FACILITY AND IDENTIFY ANY FURTHER LIFE SAFETY RISKS, WHICH WHEN ADDRESSED BRINGS THE BUILDING I NTO A SAFER CONDITION WITH MINIMAL RISK UPON LIFE SAFETY HAZARDS. ITEMS DISCOVERED: SINGLE MEANS OF EXIT ACCESS EXCEEDS EXIT ACCESS TRAVEL DISTANCE THUS A NEW EXIT IS BEING ADDED WITH A SWINGING DOOR IN LIEU OF AN EXISTING SLIDING DOOR, FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ARE NOTED AS NEEDING TO BE CHARGED, GUARDRAILS ALLOW FOR THE PASSAGE OF A 4" SPHERE THUS NEED UPGRADING WHERE THE FALL RISK EXCEEDS 30", AND A CO 2 DETECTOR SHALL BE ADDED TO THE MAIN LEVEL AND SECOND LEVEL AREAS (VERIFY ALL FIRE ALARMS ARE IN WORKING ORDER ON WITH AT LEAST ONE ON EACH LEVEL).
