This property consists of a single, 14.42-acre parcel (#S1130223510) located on the west side
of Standing Timber Way in Meridian, Idaho. The Riddenbaugh Canal is the north boundary for
the subject property. As authorized, on October 27, 2017, SITE staff logged and sampled two
test pits on the subject property. These test pits were extended to fourteen feet deep. At this
depth, loose sand and gravels were sloughing faster than could be excavated with a rubber tire
backhoe. Groundwater was not encountered.
Since groundwater was not confirmed, additional research was undertaken. SITE previously
provided geotechnical investigation and recommendation reports for Caven Ridge Estates and
Caven Ridge East, both located east of the subject site. During the geotechnical investigation
for the adjacent Caven Ridge Subdivision, research was done to determine the depth to
groundwater. That report indicates that groundwater is in excess of 50 feet deep on the subject
property. Two new monitoring wells were recently drilled in the bottom of the former gravel pit
located south of the subject property. The wells logs are available on the IDWR's website and
indicate they were drilled to 25 feet deep and did not reach the groundwater. Based upon this
research, it is safe to assume the depth to groundwater on the subject property is greater than
20 feet deep and will not impact the planned construction.
