NOVEMBER STAFF REPORT
Thursday, November 9, 2017 3:30 p.m.
City Council Chambers – Meridian City Hall 33 East Broadway Ave., Meridian, Idaho
Public Art Projects Updates
Traffic Box Art
o Done wrapping until Spring
o Some Paramount residents expressed concerns with Jon Wardle, Brighton,
regarding the box wrapped at Linder and Cayuse Creek. I’ve emailed Jon and
given him detail about that box selection and Paramount’s options for either
engaging in the public art selection process when artwork is juried or sponsoring
boxes near their neighborhood.
Mural Campaign
o MDC signed MOA with City to contribute funds for Meridian Mill mural, this will go
before City Council next week
o I haven’t gone before Council with MAC’s recommendation to contract with
Sector Seventeen, because Parks still has concerns regarding size and longevity
of the mural.
Heroes Park
o Journey of Heroes is now Ken McCall’s top priority again in his shop now that the
other Meridian Parks projects he was working on are installed.
o I delivered the final image to Ken on Thursday, November 2 after receiving the
image file from the photographer that Parks found.
o ‘Unveiling’ ceremony can likely still take place in November.
Initial Point Gallery
Current exhibit: Mark Davis, Cara Stone, Bonnie Zahn Griffith, Dan and Sharona

Next exhibit: Joni Frey and the Idaho Gourd Society
o Install Friday, December 1, 2017 @ 9:30 a.m.
o Reception Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 4:30-7:00 p.m.
Bonnie to host this reception.
