PZ - Public Testimony: Bev Tessin - 9.28Questions in reference to proposed zoning changes to Rapid Creek Subdivision project I am unable to be present during the October 5 meeting as I am out of town and unable to change to accommodate the meeting. Questions requesting responses 1. Has the zoning commission already made a decision on this zoning change? 2. Has the Corp of Engineers reviewed this zoning request and signed off the destruction of the existing wetlands under the EPA Clean Water Act? 3. Is there a master plan for parks and open space in the northwest Meridian community or will it be developed without a vision and turn into a California? 4. What development is planned along 9 mile creek between the current Oaks green area and Black Cat? 5. Will there be a buffer zone between the current irrigation canal and the proposed development? 6. Will the proposed development have enforceable CCR’s that mirror The Oaks? 7. The current habitat is supporting various species of wildlife including: a. Mallard Ducks b. Cinnamon Teal c. Red Tail Hawks d. Mourning Doves e. Canadian Geese f. Great Blue Herons g. Sandhill Cranes h. Spotted Sandpiper i. Black-billed Magpie j. American Crow k. Red-winged Blackbird l. Tree Swallow m. Quail Will the habitat be replaced or are these animals without a home? 8. Are there any plans to change the current trash/brush burning area located in the southwest corner of The Oaks in the corner of the irrigation canal and 9 mile creek? 9. Has the City of Meridian Zoning Commission considered the tax payers future liability by giving their approval to construct housing on top of a wetland/lake?
