Subject: RE: Aegean Subdivision - Bus Stop Amenities
Sonya,
VRT’ s position is that in the interest of planning for the future any arterial should include space to add bus stops later on.
What that would require is space (R/W) to allow for 8’ deep sidewalk in planned stop areas. Planned stop areas are
generally 100’ from any major intersection and intersections where a bus stop could reasonably be placed. If the
developer is amenable, this large of sidewalk would be a great idea at this point anyway, but at a minimum, the space to
include this is our request. Including this now is usually not that much of an imposition, but if so, it comes from the
PROWAG section 810.2 (below) and is also required in our TADG online here .
Thanks for reaching out. This type of improvement response from VRT could be applied to any arterial development like
what you mentioned below.
Let me know if I can help with anything else.
Thanks,
Jacob Hassard, P.E.

Hi Rhonda,

Caleb Hood gave me your contact info to check with you to see if VRT wants bus stop amenities to be required with the
Aegean Subdivision development south of McMillan on the east side of N. McDermott Rd. (see attached map).
