Develop a connected pathway system across the City of Meridian, with the Five Mile Creek Pathway as the top priority. 2. Explore options to obtain, build, or develop partnerships for additional park space and/or amenities. 3. Participate in the design development of the future South Meridian Regional Park. 4. Engage other task forces, commissions, entities, and agencies through workshops and other outreach for partnership opportunities. 5. Pursue improved tools and opportunities to communicate with citizens and stakeholders. 6. Develop partnerships with the Meridian Fire Department for future fire stations to be collocated with parks. 7. Continue to foster greater Commission involvement in community events through advanced notice and sign-up sheets. 8. Continue implementation of the updated MPR Master Plan. 9. Explore opportunities to build a pathway along Locust Grove Road to Chinden, connecting to Eagle's pathway system and the greenbelt. 10. Develop plans for a new, updated Memorial Program. Adoption of the Agenda Commission Vice President Jo Greer entertained a motion to accept the agenda as presented. Commissioner John Nesmith moved to adopt the agenda as presented. Commissioner Kayla McNay seconded the motion. All were in favor of the motion. 3. On behalf of the MPR Commission, Vice President Jo Greer welcomed Keith Bevan as its newest member. Commissioner Bevan introduced himself. He is relatively new to Meridian and has been a resident for a little over two years. He has lived in Burley, Idaho prior to this for eight years. His family members are lifelong residents of Idaho. He likes to be involved in the community. In Burley, he helped coach high school football for eight years as a volunteer, which was a labor of love. He also helped with the Spud Man Triathlon. Keith expressed he loves the Storey Bark Park and takes his dog there at least once a week. MPR Director Steve Siddoway interjected Keith and his wife ran an event center, so they understand putting on events. Keith was involved with the Color Run in Boise last year. 5. Volunteer Appreciation Month Recognition - Steve Siddoway In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Month for April, MPR Director Steve Siddoway expressed his appreciation and presented each of the MPR Commissioners with a card and two smatl gifts. He stated that he hopes the Commissioners are aware the MPR Department and City truly appreciate all the work they do, including the time they commit to coming out and helping MPR staff with things like pathway priorities and everything else that goes on with the MPR Commission. b. Spring Pathways Tour by Van Et Bicycles - Jay Gibbons Et Steve Siddoway With MPR Parks Et Pathways Project Manager Jay Gibbons and MPR Director Steve Siddoway as the tour guides, participants visited the following pathway segments by van or bicycle: 1) Rail With Trail Pathway Segment from Broadway to 3rd Street to 8`h Street. 2) Five Mile Creek Pathway, Segment E (Bridgetower Connection) from Ten Mile to Linder Road. 3) Linder Pathway Connection at Tully Park between Ustick Road and Chateau Drive. 4) Five Mile Creek Pathway, Segment F (H.R. Bud Porter Pathway) from Linder to Meridian Road. 5) Five Mile Creek Pathway, Segment G (E. James Court Connection) from Meridian Road to Fairview Avenue. 6) Five Mile Creek Pathway, Segments H1 and H2, from Fairview to Pine Avenue. 8. Old Business - NONE 9.
