The Gemstone Building's tenant will be GEMTECH, a manufacturer of gun suppressors for civil, military, and law enforcement. Their Eagle location will be relocated to this new building and their entire operation in Arizona will eventually also be relocated to this new facility. The building will be constructed out of concrete tilt -up wall panels, with entries demarcated by arched elements. Each element will be flanked by a series of concrete columns supporting a concrete awning structure for visual interest. The roof will be steel bar joists with rubber membrane roofing. The roof will be concealed by parapets. A below grade shooting lane will be constructed as located on the plan. Access will be provided from stairs within the building. Cohesive Design: Forms and materials are carried around the building to provide a cohesive design. Building Scale: The building provides human scale through door and window fenestration sizing, and also the columnar awnings. Building Form: The building is accentuated with two prominent entry features on the southwest and southeast portions of the building, providing building modulation and visual interest. Parapets are varied in height. Horizontal joints in the concrete will also provide wall articulation. Architectural Elements: The building is accentuated with two prominent entry features on the southwest and southeast portions of the building, providing building modulation and visual interest.
