Andrea presented for RK. The Program has returned $244 to the CRFP. Cardboard is the big
stream although contamination is still occurring. Commissioners should try to participate to
experience how the program is set up and to see if there are ways to improve it.

A meeting is set for 2/7 at 9:30 am for AP, MAC representative, and Parks staff to talk about the

The approved report was tweaked to reflect the following changes which occurred by November
30, 2016: (1) The Hand in Hand We Recycle! Program has returned $283 to the CRFP which
grew to a balance of $11,672.32; and (2) City Council appointed both Dave Neal and Megan
Larsen to SWAC.
7. New Business
A. Meridian Police Department Prescription Drop -Off Program -2016 Update
Neither Sergeant Parsons nor Rachele Klein were present so SC provided the following
information: In 2015 2,980 lbs. (or 179 boxes) of prescription drugs were dropped off at MPD
compared to a 21% increase in 2016 to 3800 lbs, (or 215 boxes). That is good news. The
Commission thinks it would be a good idea to bring this topic back with a presentation to learn
more about how the program works and to see if SWAC can do anything to assist it.
