AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN PROVIDING FOR A NEW SECTION
OF THE MERIDIAN CITY CODE TO BE SECTION 6-3-5 A.2. ENTITLED PENALTY,
AND AMENDING SECTION 3.B.l. AND TO PROVIDE FOR A NEW 3.B.2 OF
CHAPTER 5 TITLE 7 AND TO RENUMBER THE PRESENT NUMBERS
THEREAFTER, TO ALLOW CHERRY LANE RECREATION EQUIPMENT TO
OPERATE ON MERIDIAN CITY STREETS WHILE IN TRANSIT TO THE GOLF
COURSE AND TO ALWW THE RESIDENTS OF MEADOW LAKE VILLAGE TO
USE GOLF CARTS THROUGHOUT THAT SUBDIVISION; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN AMENDMENT TO SECTION 5 OF CHAPTER 5 TITLE 7 MERIDIAN CITY CODE
TO PROVIDE THAT VIOLATIONS OF THE CHAPTER ARE PUNISHABLE AS
INFRACTIONS WITH A SET PENALTY OF $25.00; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT,
VALIDITY, SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FORAN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO:
SECTION 1: That Section 3.B.l. Chapter 5 Title 7 Places Of Operation of the Meridian City
Code, be, and the same is hereby amended and shall now read as follows:

PLACES OF OPERATION:

Except as authorized herein, no golf cart shall be driven or operated on
the streets, sidewalks, alleys, easements, or land owned by the City, in any
area of the City that is outside of the following described approximate
square mile, in which the Cherry Lane Golf Course is located:
North of the north street right-of-way line of Cherry Lane; East of the east
street right-of-way line of Black Cat Road; South of the south street right-
of-way line ofUstick Road; West of the west street right-of-way line of
Ten Mile Road.

Notwithstanding the foreaoing. the operator of Cherry Lane Golf Course.
and its employees shall be allowed to operate its equipment on City
streets while in transit ITom the storage equipment area to the golf course.

Exce{Jt as allowed in 7-5-38 I (b). Ngo golf carts shall be driven or operated on,
or in, the right of way of Cherry Lane, Black Cat Road, Ustick Road, or Ten Mile
Road.
Golf carts may be operated on the streets, alleys, easements within the City, or
land owned by the City, within the parcel of land described in subsection 8 I of
this Section, but not on the roads and streets set forth in subsection 82 of this
Section and not on the sidewalks, except as set forth in subsection 7-5-4A ofthis
Chapter. Golf carts may not be operated or be driven in any area that has been
posted by the City with a notice that prohibits such operation at the location
described in the notice.

The residents within Meadow Lake Villaae Subdivision shall be allowed to
operate golf carts to travel within the subdivision. which is located south of
Franklin Road. east of Eagle Road. and north of the 1-84.
Golf carts may be operated or driven on privately-owned land or premises.
SECTION 2: That Section 5 Chapter 5 Title 7 Penalty of the Meridian City Code, be, and the
same is hereby amended and shall now read as follows:
7-5-5:
PENALTY: Any person convicted ofa violation of this Chapter shall be subjeet to

a fine oftwentv-five dollars ($25.00). exclusive of court costs. (Ord. áH, 4 5 1994;

SECTION 3: All ordinances, resolutions, orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed, rescinded and annulled.
SECTION 4: VALIDITY: The Meridian City Council hereby declares that any
section, paragraph, sentence or word of this Ordinance as adopted and amended herein be
declared for any reason to be invalid it islhe intent of the Meridian City Council that it would
have passed all other portions of this Ordinance independent of the elimination here from of any
portion as may be declared invalid.
SECTION 5: SAVINGS CLAUSE: This Ordinance does not affect an action or proceeding
commenced or right accrued before this Ordinance takes effect.
SECTION 6: DATE OF EFFECT: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its
passage, approval and publication, according to law.
