Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Planning This item will be tabled for October. Action Items: • None at this time. Committee Recommendations to Commission: • None at this time. 2. Children's Winterland Festival Planning This item will be tabled for October. Action Items: • None at this time. Committee Recommendations to Commission: • None at this time. 3. Movie Night The Committee discussed in length the new policy in place in which kids under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. This has helped considerably to enhance the family- friendly atmosphere in Settlers Park. There was also a discussion about potentially making a separate teen movie night. Out of this conversation, the Committee identified a need for a community recreation center, which could contain an indoor teen movie night. Action Items: • None at this time. Committee Recommendations to Commission: • None at this time. 4. Community Block Party This is scheduled for September 8. Rehab Authority is the sponsor. This event will involve demonstrations on community classes that are happening and a potential family 5k run. A couple of radio stations are doing promotions. Colin Moss is still working on some of the details. The Meridian Police Activities League (MPAL) will be having their jamboree. There will be jump houses, a hamster ball, and other games/activities.
