Brad Deteau and his team designed a potential layout for the park. The committee began by walking much of the course and evaluated many of the areas with building and ball field obstacles. The season would run from approximately mid-November to mid-February. There was much discussion on whether anine-hole course at Settlers would be more appropriate. This would allow for another possible course to be installed on the south side of Meridian, possibly Bear Creek. This would improve the exposure for the new amenity and give better coverage for the community. Some obstacles to work around are the ball fields and playing near traffic areas. The course would need to be designed with Meridian's demographics in mind. Younger less experienced players would be primarily utilizing the course. These players could potentially throw into traffic areas and onto private property. Consideration would need to be given to this obstacle as the course is designed. Players would have to be given access to the fields in order to play through. Maps of the course would be needed in order for the players to know the hole progression and movement. Brad Deteau and his team are to look at redesigning anine-hole course at Settlers with a proposed course at Bear Creek. Elroy Huff and Brad will walk Bear Creek to locate the tees and holes. Bocce Ball: Elroy Huff informed the committee that he had acquired an initial cost number for atwo-lane court--$36,000 is the initial estimate. There will be continued follow up on this amenity and its implementation costs. Street Banners: Steve Siddoway shared with the committee the proposed street banner selection. The committee had seen these prior to the meeting and had recommended six of the proposed. Gaming Tables: Elroy Huff thought two tables at Generation Plaza might be too large for the immediate area. His team is moving forward on this project, and the committee is still hopeful that they will be in place before the year's end. Christmas Tree: Elroy Huff notified the committee that he had located a 35 ft. tree for the City and that it would be ready for the tree lighting ceremony.
