Statement of Purpose and Authority: The Parks and Recreation Commission for
the City of Meridian is a volunteer citizen's group that is created and empowered to
advise the city on issues relating to the park facilities and recreation programs of the
City. Their mission is to gather input from staff and other qualified personnel on issues
relating to the creation and design of public parks and open spaces; to listen to public
input; and to provide advice and recommendations on parks and recreation related

V. MERIDIAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
APPROVED/MOVE TO C/C FOR APPROVAL OF CONCEPT PLAN
Shaun Wardle will present to the commission the future downtown development plans for
Meridian to include hard-scape and maintenance. (Commission Recommendation Required)
VI. SPLASH PAD UPDATE O PRESENTED
Emily Kane and Elroy Huff will update the commission on the Splash Pad located in
Meridian Settler's Park.

Baseball Complex or on the Trace Leighton Field in honor of the Meridian All-Stars team.

John Nesmith will discuss naming of the new Messina Meadows Park.

IX. COMMISSION SEAT ASSIGNMENTS -APPROVED AS AMENDED
Emily Kane will have seat assignments in ordinance form for each commissioner seat labeled
as Seat 1 -Seat 9.
X. COMMYTTEE ASSIGNMENTS & COMMITTEE MEETING TIME CHANGE

Bruce MacCoy will discuss committee assignments and suggest changing the meeting times
for each committee to meet.

Committee Meetings will be held monthly immediately following the week of our
commission meeting at the Parks & Recreation Department from 7-8pm.
A. Park Sian and NaminE Committee: Provide naming options for future parks and
establish park signage standards, for out park system. (Mtg Monday 7-8pm)

B. Park Amenities & Future Parks: Create park layout options that meet our community
needs for all types offuture parks the city will develop. Research options• on park facilities
& amenities that can be included existing and future parks. Provide precise details on
