Adoption of the Agenda: Motion made to adopt the agenda as presented by Dr. F. Thomason; seconded by Dr. T. Hammond. All ayes — agenda adopted — No further discussion. 3. Introduction of New Commissioner: Presented 4. Approval of the May 8th Meeting Minutes: Motion made to adopt the minutes as presented by Dr. T. Hammond; seconded by Dr. F. Thomason. All ayes — agenda adopted — No further discussion. 5. Approval of the Monthly Financial Statement: Motion made to approve the financial statement as presented by R. Nesbit; seconded by Dr. T Hammond. All ayes — minutes approved — No further discussion a. Preservation Month Spending Report Historical Society and History Center Update by Lila Hill: Lila Hill presented. A copy of the written report is on file. 7. Old Business Meridian Historic Preservation Commission Meeting — June 12, 2014 Page 1 of 3 All materials presented at public meetings shall become property of the City of Meridian. Historic Preservation Plan Council Adoption: Jacy Jones provided Commissioners with City resolution No. 14-995 that adopts the Historic Preservation Plan by the City effective June 10, 2014 b. Preservation Month Recap: Launch event was discussed. Participation was high and tour has been successful. c. Walking Tour Update Including School District Integration: J. Jones will continue to update the Commission as the group moves forward with the school tours. d. Discussion on National Trust for Historic Preservation Annual Conference in Savannah Georgia: Commissioner Johnston will attend the conference this year. Budget of a not -to -exceed $2,500. 0 from FYI will be expended. e. Others 8. New Business a. Discussion on Continuing Education Credits by Commissioner Nesbit: Commissioners accepted public comment and are in favor of moving forward with a program to provide for continuing education credits for teachers based on Meridian history. Commissioner Nesbit will continue to work on project and will update the Commission as necessary. b. Others 9. Discussion of Upcoming Projects for 2014 and Public Outreach a. Dairy Days Parade Volunteers: Dairy Days Parade is on June 20, 2014. Mayor and Council will be riding the 1937 school bus in the parade. If the Commission would like to attend and hand out Walking Tour flyers the team will be meeting at the Fire Station on Franklin at 6:00 p.m. b. Association of Idaho Cities Walking Tour: Jacy J. and Lila Hill will be leading a tour for the Association of Idaho Cities on June 19. Commissioners interested in attending may contact J. Jones or Mrs. Hill for more information. c. Others 10. Next Meeting: Thursday, July 10, 2014 a.
